Radio Wave Therapy Cage
This amazing helmet is from the early part of the 20th century. It was manufactured to order by the Italian maker Balzarini. This company played an important part in the development of Electro-Medical devices. It was found as part of the disused equipment from a German clinic for mental illnesses. The cage was designed to be chair mounted so it could be lowered over the head without touching. The condition of the instrument is almost perfect still retaining the original indicator bulb. I’m not sure if it was actually meant to produce radio waves or just heat. There is a reproduction of a full body example on display in the Bakken Library.
This is one of the objects from the Radio Guy collection that inspired Dennis Manarchy's Award winning series and book "METAL"
