Matching Pair of 1930s Monark Silver King Wingbar Aluminum Deco Bicycles
The Art Deco Monark Silver King (Wingbar) is an iconic pre-war American vintage bicycle produced in the late 1930s (circa 1936–1938). Here are 2 rare and polished aluminum Male and Female matching examples. They are priced and sold only as a pair. Designed by George Lewis, the frame is cast from lightweight Duralumin (an aluminum alloy) with distinctive cast lugs, featuring a prominent art-deco “wing” profile sculpted right into the top bar. These were the deluxe models and included Delta horn lights and battery tubes, Delta taillights, Troxel “tool box” saddles and butterfly kick stands. Because many aluminum frames were not saved from scrap drives during World War II, complete or well-preserved Wingbars are highly prized by collectors. To find a very clean matching pair is almost unheard of… $8500 for the pair.
