Large 1888 Hartmann and Braun Wheatstone Bridge
This large early Wheatstone Bridge was made for Queen and Company, Philadelphia PA. by Hartmann and Braun, Frankfurt, Germany. In Great Britain, the telegraph system was controlled by the Post Office, and hence the name “Post-Office Box” for the instrument developed to make resistance measurements with the system.
