Eskimo Whale Bone Head
This striking head sculpture was from the Stephen Stuart collection. In the mid 1970s this piece was part of an important Eskimo art exhibition at the Queens Museum. It was also featured on the poster promoting this show. The face is whale bone with very little carving and Jadeite eyes inset. It just uses the natural bone shape to form the the open mouth head.
