1910 Horned Full Violin
Based on the concept of a Stroh horned string instrument there were other smaller makers experimenting. This example s unsigned. String instruments were not able to compete with the more directional sound of a horn instrument in early recording sessions. This was a time when electrical microphones did not exist. These instruments are rare and also now sought after by Blue-Grass musicians for their unique sound.
