An enchanting antique bust statue of a young boy dating from the early 1900s. I am guessing on the date but it may be much earlier. The figure has been cast from terracotta and features hand-painted accents. It depicts a small child wearing a cap and robe on pedestal. His face has been hand painted with a charming expression. The paint shows its history and has the right look. There are no maker's marks or stamps. Inside you will find a hand painted catalog number that may indicate it was at one time from a large or museum collection... 5x9x12"... $1200

M4 US Government Army Issue World War II, vintage 1941-1942 Horse Gas Masks are very scarce. Due to the large size, most were discarded after the war. Occasionally, one will pop up, but most are incomplete or in poor condition. The M4 Horse Gas Mask has 2 large filter canisters, one placed on each shoulder of the horse. It has a chest mounted pack, and a rubber mask for the horse’s muzzle. Flexible hoses run between the components, and leather straps keep everything secure to the horse. Horses (Cavalry) and Pack Mules were not as common in WWII as they were in WWI, making the Horse Gas Mask all the more rare. If you are a serious gas mask collector, consider the chance of finding another M4 Horse gas mask. Included is the signed canvas accessory bag and display horse head and horse goggles. The goggles (missing the straps) are something you almost never find. … $4400

Horse gas masks were first used during World War I to protect horses from harmful chemical agents. Horses were the primary mode of transporting men and material to war zones and needed protection from irritating chemicals like chlorine and phosgene, used during that time. Like most horse respirators, this mask was probably used in conjunction with a gas proof cape and leggings. The full head example is most likely post WWII and used for protecting horses against biological and chemical warfare. I’m not sure of this masks original origin. It’s full size and comes mounted on a modern horse head tack mannequin… $1250
