This is a model that will stop you in your tracks. It’s just amazing and in working. At 40 inches long this makes a very impressive display. We did rewire the lights and motor and to our surprise everything worked perfectly. There is no history for this so we needed to guess its age. From the age of the electrical wires, bulb sockets and early rubber on the side pulley/wheels all say Early 20th Century. The model is heavy and well built with complex gearing. The 2 probs on the front and back can be angled for the sub to dive. There are 5 port holes that light up on their own switch. The running motor also has its own switch. Ike sub sits on its own custom made iron museum quality stand. Also included is a brass model of an early torpedo tube from the same era. I’m not sure if it connects to the sub model and may even be finished in a different scale but it does display well with it. I don’t know if this model was ever ment to be placed in water but would not try… $6800
