We have always considered and collected these commercial masks and helmets as industries tribal art. Examples can be elegant in their simplicity or bazaar and complex. They are always unique, suprising and filled with personality.
Very Rare Articulated Gas Medical Exam Light
This lamp is so unique and very delicate. The original mica chimney and funnel shade is still intact. I'm guessing that this was a medical or scientific lamp from the mid-late 1800s. Sometimes this type of lamp was used to a brighten the view on a microscope. We have never seen another example before. We did wire to take a standard candelabra bulb.
