Marconi Era Coil Wire Machine
It took me years to figure out what this machine did for a living... It would take thin steel or copper wire and wrap it with silk. The machine is mid-late 19th century. The silk wrapped wire was then used to create electro magnets for telegraph sounders or Marconi style induction coils. This was from the very beginning of discovery|invention and experimentation with electricity. I would think that this device was run by a steam engine. Note the elaborate multi speed wood pullies. If you restore antique electrical devices this is how you can produce the early style wire. At the time there may have only been a hand full of these in the word. It really is a museum piece and a part of Industrial history. 36 in.Hx20 in.Wx58 in.D $4,600
