Brass Drager 2028 Mask – Brass

I almost never sell items from my museum collection. Here is your opportunity to get your hands on one of the rarest examples I own. It's not only a surviving example of the very beginning of gas and rescue Apparatus, it has a striking sculptural presence as well. The Apparatus pictured, devised in 1910 by the Drager Company of Germany, operated in a similar way as the Siebe-Gorman self-contained devices. This all brass example may have been used for diving. Draeger breathing devices and other safety equipment grew so popular in the mine rescue business that the word "draegerman" eventually became a synonym for an underground rescue worker... $2500
