1700s Kaleidoscope Eye Glass Viewer

This hand-made experimental headpiece was found in Prague. We are not sure if it was just created as a curiosity or for some specific medical or science experiment. It dates from the late 1700 to the early 1800. The lenses are cut crystal and are almost a inch thick at the point. The glass and lens frame sit in wheels so the lenses n be rotated. I’m often asked… “what is your favorite object”… This is it!
